Last day to submit for #canlitpit showcase today

CanLitPit, a pitch party for Canadians, kicked off on June 1st to resounding success. By the end of the 12 hour live event on Wednesday, there were 390 pitches and 70 requests by publishing professionals. Participants were allowed to pitch the same manuscript twice, which means the request rate was approximately 36%.

In addition, we here at WritingCommunity.ca made an additional 60 requests. The requests from us are aimed at curating a list of the best manuscripts for a private showcase to be held in July. Additional publishing professionals will be attending this private showcase and browsing the submissions, potentially making additional requests for more material.

If you received a heart from @Writingca during #canlitpit and haven’t yet submitted your work, today is the day! Any requested materials received after 11:59 pm EST on June 7th will not be eligible for the showcase.*

The announcement of which manuscripts made it into the showcase will be made on July 1st…Canada day, of course! Submission instructions can be found at www.writingcommunity.ca/canlitpit.
