Author/Poet Brenda-Lee Ranta has been writing since she was a child. Born in South Porcupine, Ontario; she raised her family in Timmins, Ontario and recently retired from the Timmins Police Service.
She has to date published four books with CTU Publishing Group: Myriad Perceptions, Allegories, A Soul Passenger and her newest release, Heart Sounds. She has contributed to ten poetry anthologies and was the Creative Director for two of them: I Have a Name and Essential Existentialism with Creative Talents Unleashed. She also writes book descriptions for her publishing company, when authors have a new book release on Amazon.
Brenda-Lee Ranta was very honored to be nominated for the Push Cart Awards in 1997 by CTU Publishing, as well as recently being nominated for Best of the Net by Ariel Chart, an on-line literary magazine.
She has also been interviewed on the online radio show, HBG Radio Canada, to discuss her work; as well as a guest for the podcast, Dare to Be Human, about the relevance of the written word in present day society.
Although primarily a poet, Brenda-Lee has been writing more fiction short stories, which has been an evolution as a prose writer. She also enjoys creating acrylic paintings, as a further source of inspiration and relaxation.
Brenda-Lee is a mother, a grandmother and partner to her life partner, Hugh Dysart, who is also a published poet as well as a musician.
