Gregory John Saxby
Hometown: Stratford, ON
Homebase: Goulais River, ON
Gregory John Saxby published his first collection of poetry, SIPPING TEA, in Jan. 2018. Written as an homage to his late wife Diana, it is an exploration and inquiry into the grief he felt. While he had written a bit prior to this, her loss unleashed a creative spark that continues. Gregory has participated in many open mics and readings in both Ontario and Michigan. “I look to capture the emotion of a piece and try to render a spoken word performance.” Gregory is currently writing a novel about a writers’ block poetry detective, a unique combination of verse and prose where the poetry detective helps find “missing” poems for others.
