Leona Grace Ravinsky

Leona has written for a francophone newspaper. She received top prize for her free verse poem, L’essence de l’ame (2006). With much courage, Whispers of Hope was self-published in 2009. She continues to write to this day. She further empowers women of all ages and from various walks of life through themed workshops on subjects such as overcoming abuse and developing a healthy self-esteem to name a few.

In 2015, Leona was diagnosed with breast cancer and has since made a full recovery. She retired from teaching in 2016 and now lives in Brockville, Ontario but often visits friends and family in Timmins. She truly enjoys spending quality time with her precious granddaughter.
