Registration Open for 4th Annual Northern Ontario Book Fair

The organizers of the annual Northern Ontario Book Fair are excited to announce that registration is now open to authors who would like to sell their books this summer.

The Northern Ontario Book Fair is an annual event where Northern Ontario authors come together to learn, network, and sell their books. The event is hosted by WritingCommunity.ca co-founders Jes Trudel and Veronique Ginglo-Robert (previously under the banner of the Silverleaf Writers Guild).

The first, second, and third iterations of the Northern Ontario Book Fair were held in Timmins, Sault Ste. Marie, and Cobalt respectively from 2017-2019. While the event was on hiatus during 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event is making a comeback in 2022.

The Northern Ontario Book Fair will take place August 20-21, 2022 in Timmins, Ontario. The book fair portion of the event will take place on Saturday, August 20 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm while the Sunday event, pending funding, will feature workshops and guest speakers to help writers build their skills.

Authors must be born in, currently reside in, or have spent a significant portion of their life in Northern Ontario to register, and must have at least one traditionally or self-published book to sell. While there is no restriction as to the style or genre of the publication – comic books, graphic novels, and photo books are welcome – it must be in finished book form.

The cost to register is $49 plus hst and will be open until all available spots have been filled. Interested authors are invited to visit https://writingcommunity.ca/book-fair/ for more information or to fill out the registration form.

The organizers would like to thank Desjardins/Caisse Alliance and Holiday Inn Express for their generous donations of space to host this event.
