Storied North writer’s retreat details confirmed
Details for the Storied North writers retreat have been firmed up, based off of pre-registrations received this week. The event will be held April 3-5, 2024 at The Hive in Leskard, Ontario.
The Storied North Writer’s Retreat is an opportunity for writers to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life so they can focus on writing in a uplifting, edifying environment.
Located one hour from downtown Toronto, one hour from Barrie, and 3 hours from Ottawa, this 3-day event includes writing workshops, one-on-one coaching, writing blocks, and ample down time to rejuvenate in a country environment with a plenty of fresh air and room to roam.
At this time, the program is geared towards writers of children’s literature, but the skills you will learn and the time you will have to write transcend audience and genre. Author/illustrators will also benefit from time at Storied North.
The host of Storied North is our founder, Jes Trudel. She spent 15 years as a freelance writer, editor, and storytelling instructor prior to becoming a literary agent with The Rights Factory. She has taught workshops to thousands of people around the world and organizes writing events in her local community and she has always wanted to run a retreat that brings writers together and lifts them up.
Currently, Storied North is open for pre-registration only. There is no cost to pre-register. Once enough pre-registrations have been gathered, emails will be sent inviting people to officially register and pay their fees. The cost to register for the retreat will be $599 CAD plus hst per person.
If you would like to pre-register for this event, visit the Storied North page and fill out the form. Please share this post with all your writing friends!
