Welcome to WritingCommunity.ca, where writers connect.
This site is brand new, but our organization isn’t…not exactly. We started as the Silverleaf Writers Guild, which was formed to provide support services to writers in Northern Ontario. Over time, we learned and expanded and learned some more until we transformed into this new virtual realm of writing connectivity. So, again, welcome!
What do we do? We help writers connect online and in-person.
As we build this site, we will be adding lots of new information. Some of it will be carried over from the old Silverleaf Writers Guild website. Some will be from the founders’ personal website. Most of it, in time, will be brand new resources that we hope will help you and your writer’s group thrive in a challenging writing and publishing world.
Our website will help you:
- Find and work effectively with a critique partner
- Form a writer’s group near you (or virtually)
- Plan and run a writing/book event
- Polish your manuscript and get it ready for publication
- Find an agent or publisher
- Learn about and participate in writing contests and conferences
- And more!
